                                        We Don’t Focus On one brand, We focus on the problem.

The reason is we focus on the electrical and computer parts and across all manufacturers, they work the same way because they use the same Communications technology, the same thing needs to happen. Vehicles today have microcontrollers that control everything.  These need to always work perfectly. Any one of these can cause many issues with your vehicle. The reason so many mechanics have such a hard time with all of this. When you have a sensor or electrical problem, it will mimic other parts being bad. Did You Know A typical Ford Has 25-35 Electronic Control Units? Then you have a BMW that has 60-65, you must have Computer and Networking Experience.  All these talks with each other on a controller area network. When this network goes down, you can experience all kinds of issues. No starts to no power and this is why you want someone that understands all this. You can’t work on something if you can’t explain how it all works. Ask next time about a can bus or ask how the computers talk to each other. One of the tools I use is an Automotive Oscilloscope that was made just to test electronics on cars. This can test from sensors all the way to see if the computer is doing what its supposed to be doing.   Why don't I just go to the auto parts store and get them to scan it? When you pull information or codes from the computer doesn’t mean its correct. Let’s say you have a bad Microcontroller and it's pulling the CAN Network down. This will lose communication with all other modules. This can say ECU is bad for a host of other things. You need to test and verify that the information on the computer is correct. This involves going to the ECU or sensor and putting it on a laptop and verifying everything. If you just change parts because the ECU says too: you will end up in trouble. Sometimes it's correct, but most of the time it's not. Most cars I work on have been to a few shops and many parts put on them. People have spent thousands. Then I find a loose connection or very cheap part and they are on their way. This is because I really make sure I find the problem and as I’m testing I often find other issues. You will know before hand and be ready when it does cause you an issue.
